BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING MADE EASY

Back to school shopping made EASY | And We Play

Like it or not, back to school is here! Which means back to school shopping. We do the majority of our shopping online so when we found out about Giving Assistant it was kind of a no brainer. Shop at the stores you love AND get a percentage of your money back? Why not?!

I loved that Giving Assistant has such a great selection of stores you can shop. Just log in to Giving Assistant and select the store you want to shop. You are automatically routed to the online shop and the percentage you get back is saved automatically. No need to enter a code! I went with Target and bought all of Elliott's school supplies. It was so easy and I just love knowing that I am getting a percentage back. Some other online stores we visit often are also included in Giving Assistant's selection. Walmart, Amazon, and Journeys (which has up to 8% cash back!) I honestly don't think online shopping will ever be the same for us.

WE LOVE: OWLET

We are over the moon to be working with Owlet today! (you'll see why as you continue reading) They are an awesome company and we can't say enough great things about them. If you are a parent, hope to be a parent or know a parent - you need to read on and see what all the hype is about. Also, there are some pretty cute Pepper pictures!

When Elliott was a born, we lucked out and that boy started to sleep through the night at three weeks. However, with that great miracle also came stress. I was constantly checking him to see if he was breathing. He always was, but as a new mom that was always on my mind. Fast forward to Pepper's birth. When she was born, she had a few medical issues and needed to spend a little time in the NICU. Thankfully it was not a long stay, though going home without my brand new baby girl was the hardest thing I have ever done. She was hooked up to all of these big machines that were loud but told us she was ok. Once we got her home I felt like I could finally relax. She was home and healthy. What more could I ask for? When it came for us to settle down for the night, I was at ease and for only one reason; Owlet. This sweet little sock monitor that does the job of those big loud machines in the NICU by telling me she breathing and sleeping soundly. It is seriously heaven sent. Of course, nothing beats your own eyes, checking on your baby, but Owlet gives us some peace of mind.

It's really easy to use and is comfortable for her little foot. Every night, we put it on her, set it up and even though it has a pretty loud alarm that will go off if needed, we still like to check in before we go to sleep just to check. And when she is moving around and the Owlet can't get a good reading, it says "Pepper is wiggling" which I think is the cutest thing. Then, after our good nights sleep, we turn it off, pick her up, take off the sock and plug it in to charge for the next use. It's seriously a dream come true for a parent with a new little one, and in my opinion, absolutely worth every penny. Also, it comes with several different sock sizes so you can start with the smallest and as your little one grows, change out the sock size to continue your peace of mind.

ELLIOTT + PEPPER'S SHARED ROOM

We are currently renters in an cute little house. Little being the key word for this post! Elliott's room was really small to begin with, but when we found out we were adding Pepper to our little family, we quickly started brainstorming ways to make this space work for both of our kids. We teamed up with Hayneedle to make the perfect tiny shared space! Check it out!

We knew we would need some kind of loft bed for Elliott to free up the space underneath for Pepper's mini nursery. Hayneedle had the perfect one to match our aesthetic! I wanted the room to be white with fun pops of color so a white bed was the perfect thing. Pepper's crib is that same brilliant white and it's a mini crib, so it fits just perfectly underneath the loft bed. Going with the mini crib is great too, because we can wheel it from room to room. And because the crib is smaller, there was plenty of space under the loft bed for a minimal glider, which I was skeptical about if I would actually like. But it turns out it is super comfortable, minimal in style and size so it fits our needs just perfectly. I also love the grey color! The pink rug is a DIY from right here. We just followed the instructions to the letter and it turned out perfectly. The only thing I dislike about the space is the carpet. But hey! We're renters! The silver ottoman was a gift is from right here and we just love it.

We had this little vintage shelf from a yard sale, slapped on a new coat of paint and viola! Cute little bookshelf! The colorful ball lights are from Bright Lab and we adore them. I think we might need some for every room of the house!
