AROUND HERE

I hope you had a fantastic Easter weekend! We had a pretty great couple of days. Elliott was thrilled with what the bunny brought him. His favorite thing (besides the candy - sigh) was the marble run. That bunny sure knows that boy well! Literally hours of (quiet) fun. As predicted there was great food, many egg hunts and the weather could not have been more perfect. Oh and I loved the way Elliott's outfit turned out. Ha! As if I made any of it. But I am kind of in love with the neon pants. Which got unbelievably dirty playing outside with his cousins. Oh and the masks were a hit! I guess he did forget about them after having modeled the bunny one. But just in case, I told him I left them out for the bunny to include in his basket. He bought it. The bunny mask made it's way around the majority of the family. The kids tried it, my brother, Preston and of course I put it on while hiding eggs. I tried hoping too, but that got old real quick. It was a grand few days, we're sad to see it go! Here's to a wonderful week ahead!

AROUND HERE

Sorry to leave you hanging last week. I didn't expect Alt Summit would whisk me completely away. Pretty nieve, I know. Well, the conference was amazing and a total success. I met with so many incredibly talented bloggers and sponsor representatives. Everyone was so kind and a blast to hang out with! I met bloggers who I pretty much idolize and of course they were just as wonderful in person. One of the highlights for me was hearing Katie Sokoler from Color Me Katie speak. Totally and completely inspiring! Besides the endless wealth of knowledge received from the incredible speakers, there were parties and hands on classes as well as a food tour around Salt Lake that I participated in. Yes. A food tour! Being new to Salt Lake City, I really loved the restaurants and other hot spots around the city we visited. The list of amazing restaurants to visit here continues to grow and we continue to be impressed. Overall, this weekend was mind blowing. I can't wait to get started on applying all that was crammed into my brain over the last few days! On another note, I missed my boys terribly. And I got to come home and see them every night! I can't imagine how all the bloggers who came in from out of state managed. They are stronger than I. I rather enjoyed waking up on Sunday morning to this face:
Happy Monday!

AROUND HERE

This weekend we spent a lot of time around the house. I have been a little sick so we found fun things to do at home. Preston and I got all caught up on Downton Abbey in time for the season three premier (did you watch?), we played a lot with shadows and I did some planning for the blog and shop. I also experimented with some new jewelry ideas and I am happy to report it's going well! I hope you all had a great weekend. Happy Monday!

AROUND HERE

These last few days have been pretty much perfect. A great balance of productive and fun. Preston and I went and saw Les Miserables this weekend, but separately. We didn't have a sitter, so we went and saw it one at a time. Solo. It's been a long time since I have gone to see a movie by myself. I loved it! We have an alarming number of icicles forming all around the house, so elliott and I took a little time to knock some down with a broom. He decided they were "magic wands" and insisted on holding one until his hands got too cold. We had tacos, "made" cookies and I got Preston hooked on Downton Abbey. And the fun doesn't end there! We're excited to celebrate the new year tonight with some good friends too. I love this time of year! I hope you have a grand time partying tonight.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

We are in full blown Christmas mode over here. Over the past two days Elliott and I have made three garlands. Our living room looks like a Christmas party! This weekend has a lot more projects in store, most of which are just for fun. (huzzah!) I finally got all of the advent items and activities together. I'm so excited to kick off the month of December today! Any tips on how to keep a 3 year old out of your advent? Do I just add the new item every day? Or put it so high he couldn't possibly reach it? Hope you have a fantastic first-of-December weekend!
